The Centre for Measurement and Teaching Development

Center for Measurement and Teaching Development (CMTD) was established in Kuwait University upon a decree issued by the Minister of Education and Higher Education on December27, 1977. It is considered to be the first of its kind in the Arab World. The center was restructured on the March24, 1998, to meet the new needs and the responsibilities.

The aim of establishing the center (CMTD) is to share in raising the quality of teaching at Kuwait University. The center is responsible for improving and developing teaching methods, student's performance, faculty member's performance, and assess the quality of the academic programs. Also providing consultation through the various technical studies and reports requested from the center.

  • CMTD is officially accredited by a number of American educational institutions and corporations to administer their tests such as the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, USA, which offers many tests necessary for admission to American Universities, The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA), and Applied Measurement Professionals, USA.
  • CMTD members carry out various studies to evaluate academic programs and performance in collaboration with individual faculty, university departments, and other institutions outside the university.
  • CMTD provides students and faculty members with expert advice in conducting projects.
  • CMTD members offer technical assistance in preparing and analyzing questionnaires for various purposes.
